The Red-shouldered Hawk anticipates the Mississippi Kite's intent to intercept and deftly adjusts its flight path to avoid a confrontation. The Mississippi Kite planned to swoop down from above and snatch the meal, but its plan was thwarted. By the time the Mississippi Kite realized what had happened, the baby Red-shouldered Hawks were already enjoying their breakfast of a juicy lizard.
